Twenty-four stabs [Accidental Video Post]
Dec. 11th, 2008 02:36 pm[The PCD clicks on, showing the cafe and Kenpachi standing by the doorway. It's likely that he hit it while getting up, not paying much attention. He seems to sense that something is amiss and reaches up to fix one of his taller spikes that had begun to droop. Still not paying a whole lot of attention, Kenpachi steps forward as if to exit the cafe. He stops. Glancing back at the table, halfway in the doorway, he sees the PCD still sitting on the table and sighs. Before he can take a step towards it, though, he stumbles from an impact.]
"Kurotsuchi. Watch where yer goin', next time, an' get off me."
"Speak for yourself."
[The reply seems to come automatically, before the shorter man glances up to see who he'd run into, expression darkening almost immediately at realizing that it was only Zaraki. Never mind that it was partially his own fault for not watching where he was going, the fact that the other man was there at all meant that he'd deliberately been in his way. Quickly though, his expression shifts to one of more confusion, as he tries to ignore the contact and push past him.]
"Let go of me, will you? I'm not here to talk to you."
[Kenpachi's formerly calm expression becomes a bit annoyed.]
"Ain't holdin' on ta ya. Ain't here ta talk ta ya either."
[He tries to step away, and stops. For the first time, Kenpachi looks worried. The expression is only there for a moment before the annoyed one returns. Kenpachi pulls again. Now getting more than a little frustrated at his proximity to Kurotsuchi, he almost puts his hand on the other and then stops, mid-motion, as realization dawns on his face.]
"No. There ain't... Can't be stuck. Fuck. No. Not ta ya.... anyone but..."
[On his part, Kurotsuchi only looks mostly surprised at Kenpachi's short motions to get away from him, his own body somehow jerked along by it, even though it was obvious at this point that they were making no attempt to hold onto one another. Finally he stills entirely, expression turning carefully blank, refusing to accept what was starting to appear uncomfortably clear.]
"...Zaraki. What do you think you're doing?"
"Havin' a nightmare. My first."
[Kenpachi stills as well, out of ideas. Well, he has one idea, but there's a really good chance that stabbing Mayuri wouldn't do any good, no matter how much fun it would be. The thought alone does make this slightly more bearable. Not much, though.]
"This is yer fault. If ya'd been watchin' where ya were goin'... Wha' 'bout yer escape thing? Tha coward move where ya ooze?"
[It was highly possible Kenpachi wasn't making a whole lot of sense. The stress he was in was further limiting his normally smaller vocabulary.]
"Don't blame this on me."
[Kurotsuchi wasn't even considering that he was responsible for this; it was hard enough even imagining that they really had.... For once, the insult seems to be welcomed, and his attention snaps onto that instead.]
"Do you really think it'd be any better if I was in a liquid form and stuck to you?"
[He hesitates, looking slightly uncomfortable as well as furious.]
"Besides, I'd start reforming automatically. I'd prefer not to get grafted onto your side, Zaraki. Any more clever ideas?"
[Kenpachi shudders at the visual image of Kurotsuchi ooze on him.]
"Even Hollow gook'd be better'n tha'... Even tha gook tha' rots metal."
[Kurotsuchi didn't really return the insult. If possible, that disturbed Kenpachi more.]
"A' least I had an idea. Yer just sittin' there like... like tha worst sort o' anchor possible. Ya brag 'bout yer ability ta think an' plan, an' yer relyin' on me ta be clever?"
[Kenpachi's heart wasn't that much into insulting right now, though, much to his dismay. His mind was preoccupied with the thought of being stuck to Kurotsuchi, possibly for the entire week. He needed to find some way out of this.]
"This isn't the sort of thing I can plan for."
[This wasn't good. Just being around Kenpachi aggravated him, made it harder to think, and it was only because of the seriousness of the situation that he wasn't more privately insulted at his ability compared to mere gook. It was difficult to keep from trying to twitch away from him, but it was even harder to keep his thoughts in order.]
"Feel like cutting off a good portion of your body?"
[Kenpachi snorted.]
"Feel like cuttin' off a good portion o' yer body. Unohana'd be able ta fix tha rest, I'm sure. She might not even mind. It'd mean ya weren't blowin' up anyone."
[He was abnormally grateful for Kurotsuchi's question. Somehow it had fixed the very awkward feeling of almost being able to relate to the other, and now he was back to his usual attitude of looking down on Mayuri. Literally and otherwise.]
"'sides. Ya got more paddin'. Ain't like we'd cut off anythin' vital. Fat cells 're easy ta regrow. Can eat yerself outta any mood ya get stuck in while Unohana's got ya."
[Kurotsuchi only stares at him for a moment in silence, trying to figure out whether it'd be possible for him to use bankai before Kenpachi killed him. Very reluctantly, he decided that it was doubtful, but that certainly didn't help his patience any.]
"I see you're delusional as well as clumsy. You're not cutting off anything of mine."
[Kenpachi tilts his head, smirking just a little bit. He wonders if he could cut them apart before Kurotsuchi could get him. It might be fun to try. Then again, it might backfire, and he wanted to die fighting, not choking from poison. Kenpachi was much too close to risk anything.]
"Ya ain't cuttin' me either. Ya don't got any sort o' chemical handy in case on o' yer people needs ta get unstuck from somethin'?"
[He did, but only back home. There had been a few times that Yachiru meeting glue had not ended well, though Ikkaku's yelling had been amusing.]
"Thought ya had chemical solutions ta everythin'. Yer always braggin' 'bout wha' ya can do."
[Kurotsuchi gives him a more disgusted look.]
"If you hadn't noticed, this isn't my division, and this isn't Soul Society. I don't have the same supplies here Zaraki, but of course you wouldn't appreciate that."
[He pauses, voice becoming more calm.]
"Although perhaps I could develop something here. It would take extensive testing, however. On you. You wouldn't mind, right?"
[Kenpachi places his hand on the hilt of his zanpakutou.]
"Fer all yer talk 'bout bein' smart, ya sure can be stupid. Test on yerself. Should have some sort o' pride in wha' ya do. But if ya wanna try testin' it on me, I ain't gonna mind testin' my zanpakutou on ya. Never know wha' an event's gonna do ta it."
[He hopes Mayuri gives him a reason to draw the blade. Once it's out, it will be far easier to solve their little problem, and he might even have time to get away before the other Captain poisoned him. Maybe. An idea occurs to him.]
"Wha' 'bout Unohana? Think she can deal wi' this?"
[Any port in a storm, especially a storm as onerous as this looked like it would be.]
[Kurotsuchi was about to snap that of course he'd also test it on himself, that was usually a given, and did Kenpachi really have to go out of his way to ask such pointless questions of him? Not to mention the obvious threat... even if in its own way it was a kind of reassuring. Only idiots used force like that, and the familiarity of the response was comforting. A little. He'd take what he could get, however.]
"Unohana. It's worth seeing, at least."
[He tried to have hope. Maybe this time her powers would work against an event. It was better than standing out there and making a spectacle of themselves.]
[Kenpachi could see the arrogance in Mayuri's eyes. While it was disturbing to be close enough to see it, the fact that the look was there... helped. Not that he'd admit to taking any comfort in any situation involving Kurotsuchi. Of course, there was one obstacle that needed to be overcome.]
"How tha fuck 're we supposed ta walk like this? Gotta grab tha thing from tha table, an' then we gotta get ta tha clinic..."
[There wasn't a chance he could flash-step while connected to Mayuri. Dragging Kurotsuchi would throw everything off. He wasn't about to be dragged either. Great. They were going to have to go through the streets like this. At least it couldn't get wo-- no. He was not going to think that thought.]
"We'll walk however we have to."
[The stoicism he was trying for was probably negated by the nastiness of his voice. Not to mention that he had no real idea how they'd manage it; Kenpachi was a good deal taller than him, their strides were entirely different, and coordinating flash-step was unlikely. At the mention of 'that thing from the table', he turns his head to glance inside.]
"Don't tell me you were using the damned thing before leaving. You know how those machines are...."
[Kenpachi looks at it, and sees that it's on.]
"As if this ain't bad enough..."
[Awkwardly, trying to not knock both of them over, Kenpachi half-hobbles to the table and hits the off-switch.]
"Kurotsuchi. Watch where yer goin', next time, an' get off me."
"Speak for yourself."
[The reply seems to come automatically, before the shorter man glances up to see who he'd run into, expression darkening almost immediately at realizing that it was only Zaraki.
